This high-altitude snowy wonderland in Austria's Tyrol ski area is as snow sure as they come. With three peaks over 3000m - aka The Big 3 - and two glaciers, Sölden brings on the pow in epic proportions. It also played host to the James Bond film Spectre. Licence to thrill!

Embrace your inner 007 as you carve down long reds and blues from the top of Rettenbach right down into the resort. Or test your nerves on steely black verticals at Hochsölden.

Little rippers and rookies will love the gentle nursery slopes close to the resort and the mellow sunny slopes of the Tiefenbach glacier.

Best time to ski in Sölden

Thanks to three mighty mountains and two glistening glaciers, most of Sölden's slopes sit above a lofty 2,000 metres. Cue reliable snow all season. Magic!

In fact, it's not unheard of for the season to start as early as September and finish as late as May - summer skiing, anyone?! And if all that wasn't good enough, Sölden is also blessed with epic bluebird days. Happy days!

The après ski party starts early here in Sölden, so grab a Stiegl and enjoy live music on a mountain sun terrace before your last run home.

Hungry? Replenish your energy reserves with a hearty plate of schnitzel in the lively town centre. Or enjoy gourmet food and panoramic mountain views at the iconic Ice Q restaurant - you'll recognise it for its star role in the Spectre James Bond film. Martini anyone? Shaken, not stirred, of course!

Kiddies can make a splash at the Freizeit Arena adventure pools. Or squeal down the 7km long toboggan run. Weeeee!
